Nanyang Technological University and Changi General Hospital are jointly launching a new Graduate Diploma in Sports Medicine, targeted at medical practitioners, including GPs.
The diploma programme is designed to meet the rising demand in Singapore for people who are experts in sports medicine.
Medical expertise is needed especially in the prevention and non-surgical treatment of such musculoskeletal conditions.
The diploma course will be of one year duration, and will be conducted on a part-time basis. It will cover sports-related injuries, as well as exercise prescription for the elderly and patients with chronic medical conditions like diabetes and hypertension.
NTU will be able to capitalise on the expertise of CGH in sports medicine to offer students consultation opportunities with specialists.
