Singapore six publicly-funded universities have launched a course for all their undergraduate students entitled “Singapore: Imagining the next 50 years”.
In this course, students discuss issues affecting Singapore, and topics for discussion range from the economy to social integration.
An advisory body under the ambit of the Ministry of Defence together with Presidents of the six universities mooted the course to enhance Singapore’s existing National Education Programme.
The course has been popular with students. In SUTD, there were six times as many applicants as vacancies.
NTU has expanded its enrolment quota to 300 places for each semester this year.
