The reopening of schools in Singapore witnessed no appreciable drop in attendance levels.
Average attendance for Singapore schools last week was about 97 per cent among students who were rostered to return.
Students from the graduating cohort are required to attend school in June, while students from non-graduating batches are placed on a rotating schedule on a weekly basis.
The weekly rotation schedule gives schools the opportunity to adjust, take in feedback from parents and students, and find new ways to ease students into the arrangements.
The streets also got a little busier and public transport hummed into full gear despite moderate commuter numbers. Most shops remained shuttered, but some workers returned to offices, and some factories were buzzing again.
