All Institute of Technical Education students are now required to take a course in the basics of artificial intelligence (AI) in their first year of study.
ITE is making a concerted effort to teach its students skills like basic programming and analytics. The new module exposes students to fields of AI and how these skills can be deployed in services and products.
Since last year, ITE has also introduced three AI electives: applied scripting using Python, essentials in machine learning, and robotic process automation.
These AI-related modules are developed together with AI Singapore, a national programme launched by the National Research Foundation.
