In the latest edition of the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings by Subject, the National University of Singapore and Nanyang Technological University achieved remarkable results.
in total, 14 Singaporean subject offerings ranked in the global top 10, with nine achieved by NUS, and five achieved by NTU.
Additionally, NUS achieved the second spot in civil and structural engineering, while NTU remained the world’s third best university for the study of materials science.
Singapore Management University also broke into the top 50 for the study of business and management.
QS stated that Singapore’s universities has continued to improve amid a widespread Asian malaise at the very top, with China, South Korea, Hong Kong and Japan all regressing.
QS evaluates more than 1,200 universities across 78 countries and its methodology comprises four key indicators: Academic reputation, Employer reputation, Citations per research paper, and the H-Index: how productive the average scholar at a given faculty is.
